Overview
Jing ("we", "our", "the app") is designed with privacy at its core. Your exercise data, progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We collect minimal anonymous analytics to improve the app experience.
Data Stored on Your Device
All core app data is stored locally using iOS UserDefaults and never transmitted to our servers:
- Exercise progress and session history
- Streak and achievement data
- App preferences and settings
- Onboarding selections
This data stays on your device and is fully under your control.
Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can make it better. The data collected includes:
- Screen views and feature usage (e.g., which exercises are most popular)
- Session completion rates
- App version and device type
No personal information is collected. Analytics are anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. You can opt out of analytics in the app's settings at any time.
Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Subscription management is handled through RevenueCat, a third-party service that processes subscription status on behalf of Apple's App Store. When you subscribe:
- RevenueCat receives a purchase receipt from Apple to validate your subscription
- An anonymous user identifier is used — no personal information is shared
- We do not store or have access to your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID

No Accounts Required
The app does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use it.
Feedback (Optional)
If you use the in-app feedback feature, the following data may be sent:
- Feedback category and your message text
- Your email address (only if you provide it voluntarily)
- App version and device information
This data is used solely to improve the app and respond to your feedback.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your app data at any time by using the "Reset Progress" option in the app's Profile settings. This permanently removes all locally stored data. Alternatively, uninstalling the app deletes all data.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Data portability
Since all exercise data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. For any server-side data, contact us to exercise your rights.
Children's Privacy
This app is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 17.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
